General Waste Bin

Your general waste garbage bin has a red lid. General waste from this garbage bin is picked up from the kerbside on a weekly basis (in urban areas) and is transported and processed into landfill.

In Singleton, the general waste service is provided by JR Richards & Sons. 

What can go in my General Waste Bin?

  • Food
  • Nappies
  • Plastic wrap (cling and Glad wrap)
  • Styrofoam
  • Plastic bags
  • Broken glass (wrapped in newspaper)

What can't go in my General Waste Bin?

  • Gas cylinders and fire extinguishers
  • Liquid wastes such as chemicals, paints and oils
  • Household and car batteries
  • Explosive, flammable, corrosive, toxic or radioactive wastes
  • Tyres

Stolen Bins

If your bin has been stolen, you will need to complete at Statutory Declaration.

Once you have completed the declaration, you need to contact JR Richards to organise a new bin and to submit your statutory declaration.

Missed collection or damaged bins

If your collection was missed, or your bin is damaged, you need to notify JR Richards, Council's waste contractor.
