About Council

Council Meetings

Council meets on the third Tuesday of every month in the Council Chambers at Singleton Council Administration Building.

Public Exhibition

Be informed and have your say on what is happening in Singleton and provide input into Council’s and our community’s future.

Mayor and Councillors

Singleton is represented by a popularly elected mayor and nine councillors.

How Council Works

Singleton Council, like all other councils in NSW, is made up of two parts, the elected representatives (Councillors) and administration (Council management and staff).

Committees

Council is represented on a broad range of local and regional organisations and community groups.

Elections

NSW Local Government elections are conducted every four years and voting is compulsory.

Advocacy

Our invitation to the NSW and Federal Government is simple - let's work together to ensure Singleton thrives.

Corporate Structure

The elected Council appoints the General Manager, and the General Manager appoints all other staff. Council is divided into directorates to ensure efficient and effective operations.

After Hours Contact Information

Information about Council's After Hours service.

Freedom of Entry

In accordance with military law and tradition, cities can grant the right to Freedom of Entry to military units, authorising them to freely march through the streets to mark ceremonial occasions with swords drawn, bayonets fixed, drums beating, bands playing and ensign flying.
