Alcohol Free Zones

In Singleton, there are restrictions on taking alcohol into or consuming alcohol in some public places.

Fireworks

Only licensed pyrotechnicans are permitted to conduct fireworks displays in NSW. The pyrotechnician must notify SafeWork NSW and Council prior to the display.

Graffiti

Council is committed to the prevention and removal of graffiti. If you see graffiti on Council property please report it.

Overgrown Properties

Often a property owner is not aware that there may be a problem with overgrowth on their property.

Noise Control

Each year, Council receives a number of complaints about noise. Noise issues can come from both commercial and residential sources and can be distressing for those people subjected to it.

Building Fire Safety

Owners of buildings such as commercial or industrial premises, residential flat buildings etc, have a legal obligation to ensure that all fire-safety measures installed on the premises are maintained in good working condition at all times.

Contaminated Land

Contaminated land refers to land contaminated by hazardous substances which may pose a risk to human health and/or the environment.

Backyard Swimming Pools and Spas

Any body of water which is greater than 300mm in depth used for human aquatic purposes is considered a swimming pool. Many of the temporary inflatable swimming pools currently being sold and erected in our Council area are required to comply with the provisions of the Act.

Residential Smoke Alarms

Legislation requires all NSW residents must have at least one working smoke alarm installed on each level of their home.

Abandoned Vehicles

If you believe that a vehicle has been abandoned or dumped in your neighbourhood, you can report the matter to the NSW Police on 131 444, or contact us on T 02 6578 7290.
