Summer Reading Challenge

Research indicates that when children put down the books for summer break, often their reading ability decreases.

Teachers frequently report that students return in January with a lower reading level and interest in books, then when they left in December.

The Summer Reading Challenge encourages reading over the summer holidays, use of library spaces, resources and collections to enrich the lives of children, young people and families.

With sponsorship from Glencore Coal Australia's Bulga Coal, Singleton Library Summer Reading Challenge participants have the chance to fabulous prizes.
