Having a conversation

Asking how someone is feeling and asking directly about suicide could be the first step to helping them. Steps:

  1. Ask directly if they’re thinking about suicide
  2. Listen and stay with them
  3. Get help. Call Lifeline T 13 11 14, or if life is in danger call T 000
  4. Look after yourself. Talk to a friend, family member or Lifeline about your experience
