Opportunities in biodiversity stewardship for landholders
Next date: Thursday, 05 June 2025 | 09:30 AM
to 12:30 PM
Are you interested in learning about opportunities in the NSW biodiversity market and how to access them? Did you know you could receive an additional source of income by improving conditions for at-risk native plants and animals at your property?
If you are likely to have at-risk biodiversity on your land, you may be eligible to establish a biodiversity stewardship agreement (BSA) to create biodiversity credits. Credits can then be sold through the NSW biodiversity market, as part of the NSW Biodiversity Offsets Scheme.
This workshop is an opportunity to learn about:
- how to generate & sell biodiversity credits
- how biodiversity opportunities can be integrated with other farming activities
- benefits for landholders in providing revenue and funds for land management
- the environmental benefits of stewardship
- other opportunities in biodiversity conservation and natural capital.
The workshop will be delivered by the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW), in collaboration with the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust (BCT) and Local Land Services (LLS) and supported by Singleton Council.
