New business ideas put to the test and the pitch in innovative program

Published on 19 September 2022

New businesses and entrepreneurs can learn all they need to know to dive into the “shark tank” to pitch their innovative ideas as part of a subsidised program running for the first time in Singleton.

Expressions of interest are now open for the Pitch Perfect Proposal Program, targeting businesspeople with a business ready pitch, whether they are a start up, entrepreneur, or a business which has been in operation for less than five years.

Run by The Business Centre, the six-week program covers business basics, a step-by-step guide to validate your idea and financial viability and culminating in a pitch presentation to a panel of industry experts and connectors.

The Pitch Perfect Proposal is the latest instalment in the Singleton Business Builder program run in partnership by Singleton Council and Business Singleton (formerly Singleton Business Chamber).

Vicki Brereton, Council’s Director Organisation and Community Capacity said she couldn’t wait to see what ideas would emerge from the Pitch Perfect Proposal program.

“This is just another part of Council’s proactive approach to Singleton’s economic evolution by supporting people in our local government area with a brilliant business idea to navigate the pathway from concept to market,” she said.

“This program is a great way for people starting out to learn the tools they need to evaluate their idea, and then gain practical experience to be able to present it to potential partners, advisors, clients and investors.

“Best of all, it is a specialised program providing individual and specialised support and is completely free to participants.

“The program aims to increase the chances of launching an idea that fits the market, and thereby increase long-term sustainability and growth for businesses and their potential to be regional employers of choice.”

Places for the program are strictly limited and expressions of interest close on Thursday 6 October 2022. For more information or to register, visit Singleton Business Builder Program | Singleton Council (nsw.gov.au) or contact Council’s Customer Service team on 02 6578 7290.

The Singleton Business Builder program is a fully funded program offering business, marketing and online mentoring, coaching and training to local businesses across the Singleton local government area to help kickstart and grow businesses. It is run in partnership between Singleton Council and Business Singleton (formerly Singleton Business Chamber) and is fully funded by the NSW Government Resources for Regions Grant Program.
