Draft Water and Sewer Development Servicing Plans

No longer on display. Expired on 26 February 2024, 05:00 PM

Council at its meeting on 20 June 2023 resolved to place the draft Water and Sewer Development Servicing Plans (DSP) on exhibition for a period of 42 days following the receipt of an independent audit report.

The DSP provides a fair and transparent basis for assessment of charges levied to developers for the cost of water and sewer assets to support demand growth across the Local Government Area.

These draft plans have been prepared based on the Department of Planning and Environment’s 2016 Developer Charges Guidelines for Water Supply, Sewerage and Stormwater.

Council’s current DSP identifies five development servicing areas for water and two for sewer, each with separate charges. The draft DSP proposes a single development servicing area for water and sewer with associated charges of $7,141 for water and $2,630 for sewer. On average, the proposed charges, including adjustment for CPI, represents a decrease in development cost per lot for new developments connecting to Council’s water and sewer networks.

The draft Water and Sewer Development Servicing Plans are also available for feedback at Council’s Administration Building, Visitor Information Centre and Public Library until Monday 26 February 2024.

A public information session about the draft DSP will be held in the Council Chambers at 9am on Tuesday 30 January 2024. Further information on the draft DSP and registration for the public information session is available online at singleton.nsw.gov.au/waterandsewer.

Community submissions are invited and may be addressed to the General Manager via post to PO Box 314 Singleton NSW 2330, or via email to E council@singleton.nsw.gov.au with draft Water and Sewer Development Servicing Plans in the subject line by 26 February.
