Join one of Australia’s favourite home cooks and its original MasterChef, Julie Goodwin, as she shares tales from the kitchen in Singleton on Thursday 23 November.

Hosted by Singleton Public Library, the beloved chef, television personality and author will share cooking tips and insight into her life after winning MasterChef over a decade ago at the Civic Centre from 5.30-7pm.

Mrs Goodwin said she is looking forward to her visit to Singleton and meeting fellow passionate home cooks.

“I’ll talk about cooking, MasterChef and life beyond. There’s plenty of time for Q&A so we can chat about anything else you would like to know,” she said.

“I’ll have books with me too and am happy to sign new ones or bring your own along.”

Julie Goodwin became a household name overnight when she was crowned Australia’s first ever MasterChef winner in 2009.

Since then, she has appeared on screens as the resident weekly cook on Nine’s breakfast show Today, enjoyed an almost 10-year tenure as a monthly columnist for the Australian Women’s Weekly magazine and penned six cookbooks.

Her seventh cookbook, titled Classic, will be released in time for Christmas 2023.

The nation fell back in love with Mrs Goodwin’s quick-witted sense of humour and trademark honesty when she burst back onto screens in 2022 for MasterChef: Fans and Favourites.

She wowed the judges again with her classic but perfectly executed dishes.

This time it wasn’t just her cooking that had people talking, but also her openness and willingness to share her struggles with mental health over the past decade.

Mrs Goodwin has vowed to keep the conversation going and is working with Beyond Blue.

The Julie Goodwin Visit is supported by the Singleton Explore Wellbeing program which is being delivered by Singleton Council in partnership with the NSW Government.
