Christmas on John Street is always one of Singleton’s biggest community celebrations – and this year will be no exception.

On Friday 5 December from 5.30pm to 9.30pm, John Street will once again transform into a wonderland of entertainment, food and fireworks, bringing all the joy and sparkle of the festive season to the heart of town.

But this year comes with something extra: an open invitation to rediscover everything that makes Singleton special at Christmas time – our vibrant town centre, boutique shopping, welcoming community and stunning landscapes right on the doorstep of wine country and world-heritage listed national parks.

From street performers and live music to the much-loved Singleton Town Band, local dance groups, food trucks, a sensory light installation in Burns Lane thanks to support from Thiess, market stalls and a bar, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Families can expect kids’ activities, free photos with Santa in Singleton Rotary’s North Pole grotto, and of course, the magical moment when Singleton firefighters chauffeur Santa into the event aboard their 1960s Bedford vintage truck.

The night will finish with a spectacular fireworks display supported by Yancoal – the perfect way to start the holiday season with a bang.

Mayor of Singleton, Cr Sue Moore, said it’s the unique sense of togetherness that makes Christmas on John Street a highlight of the year.

“The best thing about Christmas on John Street is the wonderful festive spirit and the sense of community that really takes over the entire town centre,” she said.

“This event brings thousands of people into Singleton’s town centre for a massive evening of fun, festivities, cheer and celebrating – all the things that make this a most wonderful time of the year.

“It’s a chance to support our local retailers too, with many shops staying open late so you can tick off your Christmas list while soaking up the atmosphere.”

Whether you’re a local or visiting from further afield, Christmas on John Street is a chance to experience the magic of Singleton at its best – community, culture and Christmas spirit all rolled into one unforgettable evening.

And the celebrations don’t stop there – mark your calendar for Twilight at Townhead Park on Sunday 25 January, Singleton’s signature Australia Day Eve celebration, the perfect way to revel in the long weekend.
