Committees Established Under Legislation
These committees were established by way of legislation or policy to provide strategic advice and feedback in relation to a particular focus area. They have the authority to make recommendations but not to make decisions.
These committees often consist of Councillor representatives, specialised independent members, technical representatives and agency representatives.
Audit, Risk Improvement Committee (ARIC)
The Audit, Risk Improvement Committee (ARIC) was established in accordance with the Local Government Act 1993, and supports good corporate governance by the provision of independent objective assurance and assistance to the Council on:
- Compliance
- Risk Management
- Fraud Control
- Financial Management
- Governance
- Implementation of the Strategic Plan, Delivery Program and Strategies
- Any other matters prescribed by the Local Government Act and Regulation.

Local Transport Forum
The Singleton Local Transport Forum is established to provide technical advice, coordination, and expertise to Council on matters related to the control and management of traffic, transport, movement, and accessibility on the local road network within the local government area.
The Singleton Local Transport Forum replaces the previous Local Traffic Committee.

Roads Advisory Committee
The Roads Advisory Committee is constituted by Singleton Council as a committee of Council; in accordance with the provisions of Section 260 of the Local Government (General) Regulation 2005.
