The Food that Made Us Exhibition

Local History Recipes Exhibition – Call for Contributions

Exhibition period | 1 - 31 August

Submissions end | 1 July

Food is one of the most powerful carriers of memory. The handwritten, well‑loved recipe cards tucked into books and passed from hand to hand tell stories of family, culture, migration, and everyday life. This August, in celebration of Family History Month, Singleton Library is creating a special exhibition featuring high‑resolution reproductions of handwritten family recipes contributed by our community.

We invite you to share a treasured recipe—whether it’s been passed down for generations or simply holds a special place in your family’s story. Your recipe will be carefully digitised and displayed alongside vintage photographs, kitchen memorabilia, and items from the Local History Collection, creating a warm and nostalgic tribute to the food that shaped us.

By contributing, you help preserve our shared heritage and ensure these meaningful pieces of domestic history are recorded for generations to come. Fill out the Form below to be part of this exhibition!
