Easter relief with BASC vouchers accepted for OOSH school holiday fun

Published on 04 April 2022

With Easter school holidays just around the corner and a packed program of fun and activities, it’s the perfect time to try Singleton OOSH (Out of School Hours) at no cost to families as a Before and After School Care (BASC) voucher provider.

The BASC Voucher Program offers families a $500 voucher per primary school-aged child to support the cost of accessing BASC services. The voucher can be used to cover the cost of the parent gap fee under the Child Care Subsidy.

Vicki Brereton, Council’s Director Organisation and Community Capacity said the OOSH team had outdone themselves with a diverse program to suit everyone.

“It will all start with an Easter-themed week of activities from Monday 11 April including egg and spoon races in a special Easter Olympics, Easter basket making and the all-important Easter egg hunt,” she said.

“This will be backed up by a second big week after the Easter break from Tuesday 19 April, with a drum beat workshop, an electronics day, cooking and a celebration of all things transport when you can bring your bike, scooter or skateboard.

“We’re really pleased to be able to accept BASC vouchers because it’s a big help for families, especially now with ever-rising costs of living expenses. This is a tangible way to help with the cost of childcare.

“Best of all, it’s also an opportunity for new families to come in and try before and after school care and find out if it works for their families without being out of pocket – and what better time than during the school holidays?”
