School holiday activities and NSW Youth Week combine in the Singleton Youth Festival, featuring over 30 events including an outdoor cinema, art exhibition, creative workshops, trivia, games, music and so much more between 7 - 26 April 2026!

Try something new, meet new people and have a great time! All but one activity, the colour run, is free, but some do require bookings.

Youth Week Art Exhibition

Get Creative for Youth Week 2026! 

All works of art created by Singleton’s youth and referencing the 2026 Youth Week theme ‘Dream. Dare. Do’ will be exhibited in the Singleton Public Library foyer from Wednesday 15 April – Sunday 26 April. 

Free canvases are ready for pickup now at Singleton Youth Venue. Grab yours, create an artwork referencing the theme and return it to the Youth Venue no later than 10 April to be featured in the Youth Week art exhibition.

Week 1 (7-12 April)

Tuesday 7 April

  • Polymer Clay

Unleash your creativity with our clay kit. Warm it, shape it, decorate it - monsters, aliens, pets… create anything you can imagine.
 
  • Upcycling workshop: T-shirt yarn rag rugs

Bookings required

Join Upcycle Newcastle and Singleton Public Library for this workshop teaching youth aged 8+ the upcycling technique of making rugs from old t-shirts. Each participant creates their own rug to take home.

Head along to the Youth Venue to create your own individual mosaic piece. Choose your colours, shapes, and patterns, and turn them into something unique. Work alongside friends in a fun, relaxed group session.
Wednesday 8 April

Grab your friends and dive into Dungeons and Dragons – a world of heroes, dragons, and epic quests! Create your character, shape the story, and make every roll count. No experience needed – just bring your imagination and sense of adventure.

Head along to the Youth Venue for basketball fun, skill challenges, and friendly games. Whether you’re aiming for the perfect shot or just want to have a laugh with friends, this session is all about active fun, teamwork, and improving your hoops skills. Everyone is welcome.

Tag, dodge, win – laser action awaits. Join your friends for a thrilling game of Laser Tag at the Youth Venue.

Friday 10 April
  • Beaded Mirror Crafting

Beads, mirrors, magic – craft your own masterpiece! Choose your colours, patterns, and let your creativity shine.

Dance to your own beat. Move, groove, and party with friends in a fun, headphone-filled silent dance at the Youth Venue.

  • Upcycling workshop: Denim earrings and denim flowers

Bookings required

Join Upcycle Newcastle and Singleton Public Library for this upcycling workshop for ages 8 and above. Participants will cut out shapes from jeans and turn them into denim feathers and/or create earrings.

Wednesday 15 April

Hosted by Bright Start Supports, the day will raise awareness for youth mental health and funds for Talk 2 Me Bro. Your ticket includes a t-shirt, community BBQ lunch and access to the colour run course. The day will also feature information booths, a sensory space, and additional youth-focused activities to ensure the event is accessible and welcoming to everyone.

Come along to Singleton Public Library for a day of manga + anime fun. There will be books to discuss, origami to learn, snacks, and other manga fun to be enjoyed including karaoke (12-1pm), a showing of an anime movie (1.30-3pm) and manga drawing (3.30-4.30pm).

Head along to this fun, hands-on art session guided by Martha and Jeremy. Explore your creativity, try new techniques, and create your own unique artwork in a relaxed, supportive group environment. Perfect for young people of all skill levels – no experience needed, just bring your imagination.

Join us for a sunset screening of the Minecraft movie on the Civic Green!

The entire community is invited to head along to this pop-up outdoor cinema packed with comfy vibes, pixel-powered adventure, and free limited popcorn. Grab your friends, a picnic rug and some snacks, then settle on the grassed area outside Singleton Civic Centre and enjoy a fun movie session full of laughs and blocky action.

No matter the weather, the movie will still go on. In case of rain, the screening will move inside the Civic Centre.

Step back in time and get creative with your local history! Heritage Photo Collage invites community members to explore historic photographs from the Library’s local history collection and reimagine them as unique works of art. This relaxed, hands-on activity combines creativity with storytelling, encouraging participants to connect with the past in a playful and meaningful way. Using reproduced heritage photographs, coloured papers, pens, and collage materials, participants will cut, layer, draw, and assemble their own collages inspired by the people, places, and moments that shaped the local area. The program celebrates both shared history and personal memory, making it accessible and engaging for all ages.
