Outdoor cinema, colour run, creativity: Singleton’s biggest Youth Week
Published on 23 March 2026
School holiday activities and NSW Youth Week celebrations combine in a jam-packed program featuring over 30 events for Singleton’s young people to enjoy this April.
Running from 7 - 26 April and supported by the NSW Government, Singleton’s expanded Youth Week program features a diverse mix of free activities, from an art exhibition and creative workshops to games, cooking classes, fitness sessions, sound healing and even a book club.
While designed with young people in mind, a number of events will bring the wider community together, including a colour run at Singleton Showground on 16 April and an outdoor screening of the Minecraft movie on the Civic Green on 17 April.
Youth Week is Australia’s largest celebration of young people aged 12 to 25, offering a chance to connect, share ideas and recognise their contributions to the community.
This year’s theme, Dare, Dream. Do., invites young people to think big and take action towards their goals.
Mayor of Singleton, Cr Sue Moore said this year’s Youth Week program was the largest to date and reflected the interests and ideas of local youth.
“Youth Week not only celebrates our young people but creates opportunities for them to connect, learn new skills and enjoy experiences that matter to them – all at no cost,” she said.
“This year’s program includes everything from upcycling old t-shirts and hands-on clay and mosaic workshops, to science activities, sport, gaming and cooking.
“We also invited the community to contribute events, opening the door to even more opportunities – from building confidence in the gym to learning about local support services.”
Cr Moore encouraged the whole community to gather under the stars from 6pm on Friday 17 April to enjoy a fun evening of laughs, pixel-powered adventure and free limited popcorn.
“Bring a chair or picnic rug and enjoy a relaxed evening sprawled on the Civic Green. If the weather turns, we’ll just move inside the Civic Centre,” she said.
As part of the celebrations, young people are encouraged to get creative for the Youth Week Art Exhibition, on display in the Singleton Public Library foyer from 15 - 26 April.
Free canvases are available now from the Singleton Youth Venue, with completed artworks due by 10 April.
