The Singleton Town Centre Masterplan, first prepared in 2013, has guided the growth and evolution of our CBD for over a decade. With the Singleton bypass progressing, and stage 1 and stage 2 of our town centre upgrades now complete, now is the right time to review the plan and continuing to ensure our town centre is well positioned for the future.
Your feedback will help Council and its partners understand how people experience the CBD today, what’s working well, and where opportunities exist as traffic patterns and town centre use change following the bypass.
We encourage everyone who lives, works, or spends time in Singleton to complete the survey open from Wednesday 18 February 2026 - 11 March 2026 – every voice counts in shaping our town’s future.
For the purpose of this project, we have defined the study area as depicted in the map below. While George Street is also considered to be an important element of the CBD and how John Street functions, works relating to George Street will be carried out under a future program of work after the completion of the bypass project.
Your feedback will help us understand:
- What’s working well on John Street, and surrounding areas including the Singleton railway precinct and surrounding parklands as a key public spaces within the CBD
- Business activation and attraction beyond passing traffic
- Walkability, pedestrian networks, and street planning
- Connection to Rose Point Park, Cook Park, and the river
- Night-time economy and local events
- Where improvements could support trading, foot traffic and activation beyond passing traffic
- Opportunities to continue strengthening the CBD, particularly John Street, as a welcoming place for locals and visitors
The survey will only take a few minutes and your input will contribute directly to a refreshed vision for a vibrant, accessible, and welcoming town centre that continues to attract people to come into Singleton, not just pass through it.
