Singleton Council is inviting the community to help shape a more accessible and inclusive future, with consultation now open on its Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) 2027–2031.
The new plan will provide a blueprint for improving access, inclusion and participation for people with disability across the Singleton local government area over the next four years.
Council is encouraging everyone in the community — including people with disability, carers, families, advocates and service providers — to have their say by completing an online survey and sharing their experiences, ideas and priorities for the future.
Community feedback will play a vital role in shaping the DIAP 2027–2031 and identifying practical actions across four key priority areas:
- inclusive communities
- access to employment
- access to services
- systems and processes.
The consultation aims to identify barriers that may prevent people with disability from fully participating in community life, while also highlighting opportunities to create a more inclusive, connected and accessible Singleton for everyone.
The online survey asks community members to share the challenges they experience in the community, as well as ideas around infrastructure, services, facilities and programs that could improve inclusion and accessibility across the Singleton local government area.
In addition to the survey, Council will undertake community discussions and targeted stakeholder engagement to ensure a broad range of voices and lived experiences help inform the development of the new Disability Inclusion Action Plan.
The consultation period will close on 22 June 2026.
