- Project typeOpen Space
- Project value$500,000
- Contractor nameEco Logical Australia (ELA)
- Completion Date30 June 2026
The Bulga Stock Reserve Ecological Restoration Plan (ERP) has been prepared by Eco Logical Australia (ELA) for Singleton Council.
The preparation of this plan was initiated due to past land management practices damaging the regenerating and endangered Eucalyptus camaldulensis (River Red Gum) and the ecological integrity of the Reserve.
The plan was specifically designed to enhance habitat within the Reserve for Eucalyptus camaldulensis (River Red Gum). It provides a site assessment with detailed information on the current condition of the biodiversity values within the Reserve and recommendations for management actions for conservation and enhancement of biodiversity values.
The objectives of this project are to:
1. Improve ecological health, connectivity and integrity
- Control / manage and reduce weed cover within the Reserve.
- Protect the existing vegetation from any potential external impacts.
- Rationalise Reserve access, tracks, infrastructure and signage.
- Maintain and augment connectivity to other remnant stands of vegetation occurring off-site (vegetation corridors).
2. Maintain and enhance habitat values
- Assist and enhance any current natural regeneration within the Reserve
- Revegetate highly disturbed areas with appropriate locally indigenous species – to supplement native habitat in areas lacking remnant native seed bank.
3. Control weeds of significance and environmental weeds and prevent new infestations
This project is funded by the Mount Thorley Warkworth Voluntary Planning Agreement.
