Singleton Library celebrates 20 years in our current building on September 24. The Singleton Speaker Series is a yearlong celebration featuring renowned authors and speakers who will enlighten and entertain as we celebrate two decades of knowledge, community, and the joy of reading.
The Devil's Kitchen with Candice Fox

Join us as best-selling Australian author Candice Fox speaks at Singleton Civic Centre about her newly released book Devil’s Kitchen.
Turning to the firehouses of New York, Candice’s latest offering explores what happens when a city’s heroes become its boldest criminals.
Candice’s books will be available for signing and purchase after the talk.

The Last Charge of the Australian Light Horse with Peter FitzSimons

Return to the Hunter with Scott Bevan

A decade after a journey in a kayak led to the acclaimed book, The Hunter, writer and journalist, Scott Bevan, returned to the river a decade on to paddle it again.
Return to the Hunter sees the original story back in print but also takes the reader on a new adventure.
In conjunction with Singleton Public Library’s 20th birthday celebrations and the National Trust’s Heritage Festival, come along and hear Scott speak on his latest book followed by a Q&A session. His books will also be available for purchase and signing.

The Glass House with Graeme Simsion + Anne Buist

Join Graeme and Anne as hey discuss their newest book The Glass House.
Graeme’s Rosie Project series has sold over six million copies in forty languages and won ABIA book of the year. Anne’s five crime novels have been published in Australia and overseas, and their first joint effort, Two Steps Forward, a story of walking and renewal, was an international bestseller, sold to fourteen countries with movie rights optioned in the US.
Their latest novel is The Glass House, set in an acute psychiatric ward: your favourite medical drama with a psych twist.
They’ll talk about their books, writing as a couple and their mission to visit every bookshop in Australia. And (almost) anything you want to ask them.
Psykhe with Kate Forsyth

Join award-winning author, poet and storyteller, Kate Forsyth as she discusses her latest book!
Kate Forsyth gives voice, power and agency to Psykhe telling this much loved myth from the perspective of the woman at its centre.
The story of Psykhe and Eros has been told for more than two and a half thousand years. Kate Forsyth infuses it with new vigour as a life-affirming celebration of female strength, sexual desire, and empowerment.
Kate Forsyth has a Doctorate of Creative Arts in fairy tale studies, and is also an accredited master storyteller with the Australian Guild of Storytellers.
