National Reconciliation Week Flag Raising Ceremony 2026

Next date: Thursday, 28 May 2026 | 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Singleton Council will honour National Reconciliation Week 2026 with a flag raising ceremony at Singleton Civic Centre from 10.30am on Thursday 28 May.

This event will be livestreamed on Singleton Council’s Facebook page for those unable to attend in person.

The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.

This year’s theme reminds us that reconciliation and advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights is not solely the responsibility of First Nations people, but all people.

All In makes clear that reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us taking action to make change.

National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

Singleton’s National Reconciliation Week ceremony will be held in the Civic Centre foyer before moving outside to the forecourt for the raising of the Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Australian flags.

The proceedings will include a Welcome to Country, Address by Deputy Mayor Cr Sue George, a Response to the Theme and dance performances from local school students.
