If you’ve ever wanted to see emergency services in action — from daring rescues to real-time response simulations — the Singleton Emergency Services Expo will deliver an action-packed morning for the whole community.

The free, family-friendly event will return on Saturday 16 May 2026 from 9am to 12pm at the new location of Civic Park in Singleton.

Delivered in partnership with Singleton Council, the expo brings together a wide range of local emergency services in one place, including NSW Rural Fire Service, Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Police, NSW State Emergency Service, NSW Ambulance, and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service as well as many other supporting agencies and organisations.

The morning will feature a full program of live demonstrations and simulations, emergency vehicles on display, interactive activities, and opportunities to speak directly with emergency service personnel about how to prepare for emergencies.

Mayor of Singleton Cr Sue Moore said the expo was a valuable chance for the community to see emergency services at work and learn how to stay prepared.

“This event showcases the skill, coordination and capability of our local emergency services, while giving residents practical information to help them prepare for emergencies,” she said.

“Emergencies can affect anyone, at any time. Knowing what to do, and having a plan, can make a real difference for individuals, families and neighbourhoods.”

Visitors can expect exciting demonstrations throughout the morning, including a multi-agency storm simulation with car crash and downed powerlines, and RFS Juniors skill showcase, and a visit from PolAir.

“Seeing these scenarios play out in real time helps people better understand how emergency responses work, and why preparation is so important,” Cr Moore said.

“It’s also a great opportunity for kids and young people to learn, ask questions and engage with the people who help keep our community safe.”

Children are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite emergency service worker, with a best-dressed competition adding to the fun, and the fan-favourite agency mascot race and mascot vs kids tug-of-war.

Cr Moore said the expo also provided an important opportunity to recognise the dedication of emergency service volunteers and professionals.

“Our emergency services work tirelessly every day to keep our community safe — from rescuing people in danger to guiding us through storms and fires, they are always ready when we need them most,” she said.

“This expo is a great way to thank them, learn more about what they do, and have a fantastic day out with the family.”

The Singleton Emergency Services Expo will be held on Saturday 16 May 2026 from 9am to 12pm at Civic Park. Entry is free.
