Masterplans

The purpose of the masterplan is to guide the future development of Alroy Oval. It gives Council, key stakeholders and the community confidence in the direction of future use, allowing for investment by current and potential future stakeholders.

A plan for the future allows council and key stakeholders to develop plans for upgrade projects which can take advantage of future funding, including grant applications and development contributions. The masterplan process brings together all current and future users to determine a way forward which best serves the local community.

Singleton Council currently operates the Lake St Clair Recreation Park. Lands around the lake are owned by NSW State Water. Consequently, the usage of the park is based on an agreement between that agency and Council. This masterplan examines issues associated with the continuing usage and management of the park over the long term.

This project has delivered masterplans for the villages of Broke Fordwich, Bulga, Milbrodale and Jerrys Plains, providing a clear vision to support more vibrant, revitalised communities where people enjoy living and visiting.

Building on each village’s existing character, the masterplans have proposed design concepts to enhance the public domain, strengthen identity through distinct village colours, and foster a stronger sense of community and belonging.

While recognising the unique qualities of each village, the plans have also ensured they complement one another to better serve residents and attract visitors.

Informed by community workshops, demographic and socio-economic analysis, site mapping, reviews of infrastructure, services and existing policies, and the identification of practical implementation tools, the masterplans have established a preferred future and a coordinated framework to guide place-making and public domain improvements across all four villages.

The overall aim of the development of Townhead Park is to create a destination for travellers by providing them a range of facilities and features that encourages motorists to take a break to reduce driver fatigue and to be made aware of the attractions that are available within the Singleton area.
