Singleton Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced persons to be appointed as independent external members of Council’s newly formed Property Advisory Panel.

The Panel comprises two (2) independent members, two (2) Councillors, with one being the Mayor, the General Manager and Director Corporate & Commercial Services, with the Chairperson being the Mayor.  The Committee will meet at least four (4) times per year in Singleton and attendance may be by video conferencing.

This is an advisory Committee to Council providing independent oversight, objective assurance and monitoring of Council’s commercial and operational property portfolio, compliance of and with Council’s related policies and procedures, and related performance improvement activities.  Council recently adopted a Commercial Property & Landholdings Strategy and Policy, which provide direction on Council’s four types of property within the property portfolio (valued at $104m):

  • Operational property
  • Strategic property
  • Economic driver property
  • Income property.


Selection Criteria

The following criteria will be used when assessing applications:

  1. Recent and relevant knowledge and expertise of:
  • Commercial real estate and investment expertise
  • Planning and property development experience
  • Accounting or related financial management
  • Business development and enterprise
    1. Relevant professional qualifications
    2. Understanding of the role on the Panel
    3. Current/prior experience on similar committees.

Interested persons should address the selection criteria by:

  • Completing the Nomination Form
  • Providing a current CV.
