Singleton Mayor Sue Moore has proudly presented donations from her Mayoral Christmas appeal to the Singleton Neighbourhood Centre.
Mayor Moore thanked those who made a donation for their support and giving spirit.
“I’m very pleased to see the level of contribution given that purse strings are often stretched this time of year. We have an amazing community and people always seem to be able to put their hands in their pockets and come up with that little bit more.” Cr Moore said.
“The past 12 months has been tough for some Singleton families. The annual Mayoral Christmas Tree Appeal aims to make the festive season brighter for those who have been struggling.”
Neighbourhood Centre President and Singleton Councillor Sue George said they will now sort through the donations, which will contribute to larger hampers for approximately 75 registered local families.
“The Neighbourhood Centre works with St Vincent De Paul and the Salvation Army to make sure the people of Singleton who are most in need get something at Christmas time. Singleton is an amazing community- we are very giving. The gifts we have been given have been amazing and we look forward to making the happy delivery ahead of Christmas Day,” Cr George said.
