Singleton is calling on the entire Hunter Valley to get behind our bid to host Triple J’s One Night Stand, an annual free music event held in rural or regional Australia.
Following a number of requests for Singleton Council to support bids across the region, Mayor Sue Moore has asked Singleton residents and the greater Hunter to show support online to secure the event.
“Singleton is one of two eligible Council’s in the Hunter region to bid for this fantastic full-scale, all-ages concert,” she said.
“We have had calls from residents, high school students and even people outside our local government area who would love to see this event held on their doorstep.
“This event would be an incredible community experience, and a fantastic opportunity for our young people to see some of their favourite bands.
“Civic Park and the nearby Civic Centre would be an ideal location for an event of this scale, and easy for anyone far and wide to get to.”

Over the past 15 years, One Night Stand has taken Australian live music acts into regional communities and put on a full-scale, all-ages concert for free. One Night Stand has previously been held in locations like Mount Isa QLD (2017), Geraldton WA (2016), Mildura VIC (2014), and Dubbo NSW (2013).
