Singleton Council, in partnership with Business Singleton, is hosting free workshops to help Singleton businesses recruit and retain the right people for their business. Presented by Be Human HR, each workshop will include practical exercises and helpful tools you can take away and implement in your business right away.

Who should attend?

Business owners, managers or people in hiring roles, who want to improve their knowledge and skill relating to recruitment and retention. These workshops will be particularly helpful if any of the following applies to you or your business:

  • Thinking of expanding your workforce?
  • Struggling to recruit the right people?
  • Struggling to retain people?
  • Wanting clarity around your rights and obligations as an employer?

  • How to know if your employees are engaged?
  • Getting the basics right: employment contracts, pay rates and conditions, position descriptions, performance management, policies and procedures, code of conduct, setting clear expectations
  • Creating positive team culture, meaningful work, recognizing achievement, opportunities to progress, work life balance, community involvement, flexibility.
  • How each of these areas help you recruit and retain staff.

Places are limited, so if you’d like to attend these workshops, please submit an expression of interest and we will contact you to confirm your spot. Places are limited to a maximum of two attendees per business. These workshops are designed to complement each other and therefore we recommend attending both for the best possible learning experience, however this is not compulsory.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible businesses must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. This program is only available to businesses with a trading address in the Singleton local government area.
  2. Businesses must have an Australian registered ABN
