ELDERSLIE BRIDGE WORKSChanged traffic conditions on Elderslie Bridge, Elderslie from Monday 28 January.The NSW Government is investing in essential maintenance work to ensure continued safe operation of the bridge. Roads and Maritime Services will carry out the work, which includes repairing steel elements and painting the bridge. Site compounds will also be built on the northern and southern side of the bridge and scaffolding will be constructed around the bridge. The RMS will be working between 7am and 6pm from Monday to Friday and between 8am and 1pm on Saturdays and expect to complete the work in six months, weather permitting. How will the work affect you?The work will involve the use of machinery which generates some noise. Every effort will be made to minimise noise by turning off machinery and vehicles when not in use. There will be some temporary traffic changes to ensure the work zone is safe. Safety barriers will be installed which will restrict lane width on the bridge to 3.2 metres. Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place and motorists may experience delays of up to 15 minutes.
