The NSW Government has lifted stay at home orders for the Singleton LGA from 1pm on Thursday 16 September 2021.

This means some of Council's facilities have been reopened.

However, Council is encouraging customers to make use of Council’s services online, including:

Singleton Waste Management Facility

From Monday 27 September 2021, usual operations will resume for customers from the Singleton LGA and bookings are no longer required.

COVID-safe protocols are in place onsite to manage customer movements and interactions onsite for the safety of customers and staff, which may cause delays for during peak times.

 When you attend the Waste Management Facility:

  • Cashless transactions only will be accepted
  • Staff will be unable to assist customers to unload waste items. Please do not approach staff onsite unless in an emergency
  • You must check in using the QR code
  • You must wear a face mask at all times
  • Please limit the number of people in a vehicle to as few as possible

Please note the Burragan Recycle Shop remains closed until further notice.

Lake St Clair

Lake St Clair will reopen on Saturday 18 September 2021 for camping and day passes.

Only guests from areas not under current stay at home orders will be permitted entry. PROOF OF ADDRESS WILL BE REQUIRED PRIOR TO ENTRY. 

Bookings for camping are ESSENTIAL and must be made online. Make a booking

All guests are required to check in via the office. 

Visitors must comply with all restrictions including those relating to outdoor gatherings (maximum of 20 people in outdoor settings). For more information, visit  COVID-19 rules | NSW Government

Booking Terms and Conditions:

  • Proof of address is required for all guests prior to booking
  • Entry will not be permitted without a valid booking
  • Due to the limited capacity of the park, bookings are NON-REFUNDABLE. 
  • All park guests must comply with the current Health Orders at all times.
  • Any guests found to be breeching Public Health Orders will be asked to leave and may face refusal of future booking requests. 
  • A COVID declaration is required for all customers
  • QR check in is not available at Lake St Clair, all guests will be manually entered into the Services NSW webform as per the current health orders. 
  • Guests are responsible for ensuring that all adults attending the facility are listed on the booking.

Building Certification and Inspections of Construction Work

The NSW Government have advised that construction work can continue in regional NSW, including the Hunter Valley. Workers at these sites from the Greater Sydney area (excluding those areas of concern) who travel more than 50km from their home must follow the COVID testing rules.

A COVID Safe Plan is currently mandatory for construction sites in Greater Sydney and the same rules apply to the Singleton LGA during this current lockdown period.

Council certifiers perform an important statutory function. Our staff will continue to perform “critical stage” inspections on construction sites where Council is the Principal Certifier. A list of the critical stage inspections is included in the Inspection Schedule attached to your Construction Certificate.

Inspections of Internal/External Sanitary Drainage and Septic Tank Installations

These inspections are not “critical stage“ inspections and have therefore been suspended during the current COVID 19 lockdown. If you are a contractor/owner impacted by this decision then you are encouraged to contact Council to discuss your options for alternative evidence of satisfactory completion.

Inspections of Swimming Pool Fencing

Council has suspended the swimming pool fence audit program during the current COVID 19 emergency. Inspections of swimming pool fencing for conveyancing purposes has also been suspended during the current COVID 19 lockdown period.

Environmental Health Programs

Council’s environmental health inspections will currently be undertaken remotely via telephone questionnaires, photographs and videos. Environmental health inspections include food businesses, hairdressers, beauty salons, tattooists, water cooling towers and public swimming pools and spa pools.

Council Ranger Services

The Animal Management Facility is closed to the public except authorised staff. The care of animals currently at our facility will be provided as per normal operations.

Ranger staff however are available to answer customer service enquiries by phone.

Arrangements for dealing with dog attacks, stray dogs, surrender and reclaim of animals and illegal parking have also been put in place. Please contact Customer Service staff in relation to any Ranger enquiries.
