Coal Seam Gas
Singleton Council is opposed to coal seam gas activities within the Singleton Local Government Area.

In March 2012, Council passed an urgency motion to tell the government that council reiterated its past opposition to coal seam gas exploration and extraction.

The motion was carried unanimously.

In February 2013, Council reaffirmed its position objecting to coal seam gas activities in the LGA particularly since the release of the Land Use Strategy and the Draft Aquifer Interference Policy (which leaves exploration out of the Gateway process).
