Other initiatives are being pursued including the "Accessible Communities" project where the Committee is working with businesses to encourage and support them to improve their accessibility.

Singleton Public Library

Singleton Public Library has two accessible parking spaces located in the library car park. These spaces are located directly next to the pedestrian crossing to allow safe passage from the car park to the automatic front entrance to the library.

There is a ramp extending from the footpath on Queen Street to the front entrance of the library and a drop off zone directly outside the front door to allow drivers to pick up and drop off passengers.

A unisex accessible toilet is located in the main foyer of the library. This facility includes a left-hand transfer.

The library is all on one level and does not include any stairs.

The library collection includes a range of large-print and audio-books available for you to borrow.

Home Library Service

If you find it difficult to access the library due to mobility you may be eligible for the Home Library Service. Community volunteers can deliver items to your home on the last Thursday of each month. Items available through the Home Library Service include books, large print books, audio books, DVD's CD's and magazines. For more information about the Home Library Service please contact the library.
